01 Edge banding type and characteristics

SG-5 type features core content: SG-5 type edge banding thickness is between 0.6-3mm, with low oil absorption, suitable for hard edge banding. This design gives it certain advantages in production, especially in situations where lower oil absorption is required.

SG-3 type features core content: SG-3 type is suitable for edge banding with a thickness of 0.4-0.6mm, with excellent oil absorption and toughness, providing good flexibility and durability while maintaining strength.

02PVC edge banding formula and production

▲ Formula ratio

In the formula, PVC accounts for 75 parts and heavy calcium accounts for 25 parts, with special emphasis on the proportion of plasticizers and stabilizers added. The addition of 2 parts of diglyceride plays an important role in plasticizing. The strict control of this ratio ensures that the performance of the final product meets the standards.

▲ Plasticizer adjustment

In the preparation process of PVC edge banding, in addition to the main components, the amount of plasticizer added is adjusted according to the product specifications. Di Xin Zhi, as a commonly used plasticizer, can be flexibly adjusted in dosage according to different thicknesses to improve the properties of PVC. Specific adjustments need to be determined based on the thickness of the product to ensure the quality of the final product.

For PVC edge banding with a thickness between 1.5 and 3 millimeters, the amount of dioctyl grease added during the preparation process needs to be adjusted accordingly. Specific amounts can be selected according to product specifications, such as 2, 4, 6, 9, or 10 portions. In addition, due to the cold weather in winter, the fluidity of digoxin oil may be hindered, so it is necessary to increase its dosage appropriately to ensure smooth production.

Different formulas correspond to different temperature distributions, and temperature is strictly controlled to ensure product performance. During the production process, adjust the temperature according to the formula ratio. For example, the temperature distribution for formula 1 is: initial temperature of 160 ℃, temperature in each heating zone of 165 ℃, and mold mouth temperature of 170 ℃. When the 2:1 formula is used, the temperature is lower, and the temperature of each part decreases by 5 ℃.

03 Production Issues and Solutions

During the preparation of PVC edge banding, there may be issues such as whitening of the edges, pinholes, and bubbles. Resolve these issues by adjusting process parameters and raw materials. For example, by increasing the amount of titanium dioxide, using high-quality PE wax, and adjusting the extrusion temperature or speed, the surface gloss and plasticizing effect can be improved.

▲ Temperature and equipment issues

Improper temperature control can cause problems such as bubbling and needle hole phenomenon. It is recommended to improve thermometer readings and equipment cleaning. Temperature control is particularly important for different formulations; 3: When using formula 2, the temperature is maintained at around 140 ℃, while when using formula 2:1, it is around 135 ℃.

▲ Material and process issues

The impurities caused by the sieve and formula need to be improved, and attention should be paid to material quality and process flow. In the production process, if large particles of impurities are found to be mixed into the ingredients, the problem can be solved by strengthening the filtering ability of the sieve and ensuring that the quality of the added CPE is good to avoid clogging. In addition, it is necessary to ensure the cleanliness of equipment and tools before production to ensure the uniformity of the mixture and avoid affecting product quality due to unplasticized particles.
